Abstract: Russia and Belorussia work together in order to perform high resolution satellite systems for earth scanning. During 2012, (Canopus KVI, Zond-PP, BKA, Yubilebiny-2 (MIR)) satellite systems were launched for their civil application, some of these data (BKA, KVI) can be received by the satellite data receiving station in General Organization of Remote Sensing (GORS), with (2.1)m resolution panchromatic images and (10.5) m multispectral images. The goal of this paper is to study the basics of the Belarusian (BKA) satellite images and to study affective factors including number and distribution of ground control points GCPS. It was found that a grid of more than (40) GCPS ensures a (2)m Root Mean Square Error RMSE of the (BKA) satellite image orthorectification.
