Abstract: This research paper aims to predict the possible corrosion locations for oil pipeline by combining inspection device (called Smart Pig) data, used by the oil pipeline companies for checking the pipeline, with the remote sensing (RS) techniques and geographic information system (GIS). In this research, we have studied the factors caused pipeline corrosions and put them as GIS layers, then we have used the spatial Analyst tool in GIS for locating the possible corrosion locations. This research has shown that using these RS and GIS technologies in pipeline helps us a lot in achieving effective management ,reducing risks, and helping in predicting the possible corrosion locations in pipeline. This can help in monitoring these corrosion locations, making the necessary precautions, using the protection methods, and checking these pipeline corrosion locations continually. This helps the decision makers to take the right decisions and to fast direct the maintenance teams to the hazard places when something accidentally has happened. Also, this research shows that the GIS databases increase the integrity, make a unique and secure database, and help in reaching the corrosion data, which reduces the effort and time.
